WILLY CATT BIO
MUSIC & RECORDING
Willy is a nationally charted recording singer/songwriter who lives in Maryland. Human Touch is Willy’s 5th release, preceded by Pay Forward, Disconnected, Time’s told on you, and On a Wing and a Prayer. Doug Derryberry – Rob Thomas, Bruce Hornsby among others – has produced, arranged, mixed and performed my projects since Times told on you and brought the best musicians to work on the project.
DISCOGRAPHY
Human Touch
A clear message, supple vocals and harmonies and a rock backbone are a hallmark of this project. Ten original songs and one cover from the Great American songbook called Where or When (Rodgers & Hart, 1937). Produced, arranged, mixed and incredible performances – vocals and instrumentals – by Doug Derryberry, Human Touch also features nationally renowned musicians. Basic tracks were made at Chiller Sound in New York, all other tracks were recorded at Derryberry productions.

Pay Forward
Singer/Songwriter, Willy Catt infuses a good dose of international flare in his new album, ‘Pay
Forward’. From the salsa inspired “Like No One is Watching” to the twang of “Seeking Grace” (a touching ballad written about his late Mother), Willy Catt brings a wide range of diversity to
his music. ‘Pay Forward’ was produced by Doug Derryberry (Bruce Hornsby, Ben Folds, John Mayer) and features guest appearances by many legendary musicians. This new CD follows his past success as a multiple Top 10 FMQB A/C charting artist.
Dance like no one is watching, Lucky than good, Seeking grace, Pay forward, Skin in it, Side-by-side, Cruising with my baby, It’s just me, People will say we’re in love, Straight from the heart time’s Told on you.
He is releasing his third CD of 12 songs entitled “Pay Forward.” Accompanied by world-class musicians – including Doug Derryberry, JV Collier and Sonny Emory, all of whom play in Bruce Hornsby’s band – Willy has again created a truly original and upbeat set of songs.
Disconnected
Back to you was Willy’s first national radio hit on the adult contemporary chart (AC), reaching number 15, October 2008.), Rain Man reached number 7, and On a Wing and a Prayer topped out at #10. With performances by nationally renowned musicians, Disconnected marks a substantive step forward from my second CD, Time’s told on you, which garnered written praise and airtime on over forty public radio stations across the country.
Back to you, Dance with me, Disconnected, Rain Man, On a wing and a prayer, Deepest desire, Can this be real?, While others sleep, Pray to my God, Believe in yourself, With you
Time’s told on you
Say you do reached number 9 on the adult contemporary chart (AC). “Willy Catt has been a frequent visitor to the AC chart, and Say you do is just another reason why radio has embraced him and his music. Willy has given us his best so far with the melodic and lyrically compelling say you do. Certainly one of the finest independent artists out there today.”
Times told on you, I want to fly, Say you do, Can’t say goodbye, 10 hours to Austin, Grace, Sultry winds, It’s just me, Your eyes see through me, Travel through time
Additionally, this was written:
Take a dash of emo, a pinch of funk, and blend in a generous cup of bluesy rock and you have a savory dish that will satisfy the most discriminating musical palette. Willy Catt’s Time’s Told On You is a tasty buffet of sweet laid back pop ballads topped with rich harmonies and garnished with uptempo Chicago-style horns. Oh, and did I mention it comes with Western Swing on the side? (Check out track 5 “10 Hours To Austin.”) Catt makes this unique blend of flavors work with tasty jazz-influenced acoustic guitar playing and evocative singing. Backed by top-flight players from the Bruce Hornsby and Mary Chapin Carpenter bands and produced by Hornsby’s guitarist, Doug Derryberry, Time’s Told On You is ear candy from the first chord to the last guitar riff. On a wing and a prayer

PERFORMANCES
While not performing much, I am looking for opportunities to play live. In addition to working on performing my own songs, I am also looking to perform a number of songs from the great American songbook.
Willy Catt’s second high-energy CD release entitled Disconnected now has two top 20 songs in the a/c charts (FMQB). “Back to you” reached number 15 in October of 2008 and finished the year at number 59 on the yearend charts. “Rain man” is currently on the charts at number 13. In addition, Disconnected was given light to medium rotation in some 140 college stations across the country and was also picked up by over twenty triple A public radio stations.
